COACH ARHAM

Coach Arham is a passionate basketball coach with a deep love for the sport. Having been around basketball for the past 20 years, he has developed a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. His journey began as a player, inspired by the hoopers in his neighbourhood and watching games on television. By playing and training for competitive basketball throughout his teenage years, he learned about the intricacies of the game, paying close attention to rotations and strategies.

Arham's involvement in basketball started in middle school, where he played on the Ruth Thompson school team. His passion continued to grow in high school when he met a coach at Stephen Lewis S.S who became his mentor. Under this mentor's guidance, Coach Arham dedicated himself to the sport, training three times a day. Through hard work and dedication, he began to see tangible results, which further fueled his love for basketball.

After graduating from high school, Coach Arham pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Commerce at Ryerson University. It was during his time there that he embarked on his coaching career. Returning to his alma mater, he started coaching at the same school where he grew up. Although he momentarily lost his passion along the way, coaching reignited his love for the sport.

Alpha Elite and the staff have been actively involved in their community, organizing and running basketball camps at various levels. Their camp and academy has experienced significant growth, from initially having only three participants to now hosting twelve classes. This expansion serves as a testament to their dedication and commitment to the sport. The camp is more than just basketball; it aims to provide a supportive and enriching environment for kids, offering valuable life skills alongside basketball training.

Coach Arham's ultimate goal is to create an environment for young athletes all across the world that he wished he had when he was growing up. He believes in using basketball as a foundation to teach important life lessons and values. Beyond coaching, he sees himself as a mentor, providing guidance and advice to his students, just as he received from his own mentors. By instilling these values and principles, Coach Arham strives to help his students achieve their full potential both on and off the basketball court.

“The focus for me has always been on teaching the intelligence, how to think the game, how to manipulate defenders, how to signal teammates, give them the ball back after they missed the last 4 shots, trusting the pass, it's about flow. Basketball is best when we share and move, it creates the ultimate happiness and performance.. I always tell my players, impress somebody with your passing ability, you will always be on the court”
